One of topics of discussion last week at a master mind group that I attend 6 days a week was about letters of the alphabet and numbers.
The host for the day made the following statement and I just have not been able to his words out of mind.
The host for the day made the following statement and I just have not been able to his words out of mind.
His simple statement was, ‘There are only 26 letters in the standard alphabet and 10 numbers; it’s all about what you do with them. The hammer hit me ever so slightly on the head. I had never really thought about it before and I have been on a roll ever since. I guess I just take everything about them for granted.
So this is where I go as I ponder this. We have taken a total of 36 symbols each with a note and a tone and have combined them to define the very nature of our existence, who we are, how we are valued, our status, our possessions, our wealth and prosperity, our debt, the global economy, our religious beliefs, the who haves and the have nots, why we go to war, rules and regulations, the banking industry, etc. I’m pretty sure that you’re getting the picture. How could we create such a mess with 36 simple symbols?
The simplicity of the numbers and the letters themselves all on their own are beautiful and perfect. And yet look at what the combinations create from hell to heaven and everything in between.
Does anyone know how many words there are in Webster’s dictionary? Or how many combinations of numbers there are?
I would love to have conversation about this topic; perhaps some mindfulness practices about words, numbers, or thoughts that you might like to share. I invite you to comment and look forward to hearing from you.
